Indianola Chamber of Commerce Announces 2024 Annual Award Winners

Indianola, Iowa [January 9, 2025] — The Indianola Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the 2025 Annual Award winners. Every year, the Indianola Chamber of Commerce recognizes individuals and businesses who demonstrate exemplary service and commitment to their business, profession, or impact in the community. The award recipients will be honored at the Indianola Chamber Annual Celebration on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Blank Performing Arts Theater on the Simpson College campus.

Business Excellence Award Winner 

This award celebrates a Chamber business that has demonstrated remarkable growth or enhanced profitability through innovation in business practices, a superior customer service philosophy, or significant improvement to their commercial property. 


Orwig Dental

New Business of the Year Award Winner 

The New Business of the Year Award recognizes a recently established Chamber business that has shown exceptional achievements and positive impact since its inception. This award celebrates innovation, building investment, community engagement, and notable contributions to the Indianola business landscape.


Peoples Bank

Employer of the Year Award

The Employer of the Year Award honors an outstanding Chamber organization that has demonstrated excellence in employee development, community engagement, innovation in workplace practices, and a commitment to creating a positive and inclusive work environment.


Sue Wilson, WeLIFT Job Search Center

Distinguished Chamber Leader Award Winner

This award is presented to an individual who has shown significant and notable contributions and leadership to the Indianola Chamber of Commerce and the Indianola community. The recipient of this award embodies excellence, creativity, and initiative in their business or profession, providing valuable service by devoting time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community.



John Burkhart, McCoy True Value Hardware

Employee of the Year Award

This award recognizes an individual of a Chamber organization who has demonstrated outstanding dedication, leadership, and contributions within their role, positively impacting both their workplace and the Indianola community. 


Mack Rankin, Indianola IV Therapy

Simpson College’s Emerging Leader

The award recognizes an individual under the age of 40 who demonstrates leadership, vision, service and involvement within the Indianola Community and the surrounding region and has established a reputation of character and trust for others to emulate.


Aaron Lester

Educator of the Year Award

This award recognizes an outstanding educator who has demonstrated exceptional commitment, innovation in teaching methods, impact on learners, community involvement, collaboration and leadership in education, and a positive influence on education.


Terry Pauling, iTOWN Real Estate

Volunteer of the Year Award

This award celebrates an individual who has demonstrated exceptional commitment, dedication, and contributions as a volunteer, making a significant impact on the Indianola community through their selfless service.
